My name is Doug Long, I'm 44 years old, and have been a Christian since the age of twelve. I asked Christ into my heart in Vacation Bible School in 1979. It was about that time that I began working with puppets. I worked for several years on perfecting the art of ventriloquism and now, have a variety of puppets I use in ministering.
In 1983, I was called to sing, knowing I had the art of puppetry down, singing, I was not so sure about. So I took two years voice lessons, and over those two years God gave me the confidence I needed to stand before a Church and sing Praises to God. Over the years I realized everyone loves puppets so why not put the two talents together and praise Him in a whole new way.
In 2004, I started my ministry, sharing the Gospel with a twist, or should I say a laugh. Over the years God has blessed it. I have ministered in several local churches and I am looking forward to what God is going to do this year. I am looking to expand the ministry in 2011 and go out side the state of Alabama, God's great commission is for us to go and use our talents for His Glory and win the lost. God has blessed me with a talent that has led me through the doors of such great companies as Walt Disney World and the Jim Henson Company. But God had a bigger and better plan for my life, working in His kingdom, ministering to the lost, as well as those who know Him. Sharing the light of Christ through this unique ministry.
Feet with Purpose Ministries' mission is to share the Gospel through song and puppets. Our Ministry stands on Romans 10:15, " And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things." Being led of God, we are praying for Him to open doors that we may go out and share the Good News and God gave His son that all may come to know Him.
If you would like this unique Ministry to come share the Good News we do this through youth outreach, with Contemparary music, or for an older congregation, we minister with Southern Gospel.
